First off ~ a picture of my little leek nursery inside the hoop house:
The hoop house really is doing great. I think it saved these little seedlings from the same fate my garlic met in the green house. I will need to make some ventilation in there though because as soon as you go inside you feel the closeness of the humid and thick atmosphere. I think that the climate isn't suited for people who like to breathe.......{{{{{sarcastic grin}}}}}}
Then we have the brooders I put together:

Then came the chicks:

Tomatoes, Peppers and Eggplants are growing great!

Things look to be going well in your garden. I have yet to sow a seed, I really must get on, I just need the incentive. Such sweet chicks, I wish they stayed like that forever! x
looks like things are well on their way there, well done you! I've been neglecting mine but have started things now.
Louise and Claire: Thank you. I was looking forward to having more of a garden this year to cut back on expenses so I can cut back on work hours. Thus, the chickens.
I've gotten hooked on Hugh at River Cottage and even got the hubby interested for a smallholding! We just might add a couple of pigs next year.
Here in the States we would call a smallholding a homestead. City dwellers are even establishing them here. Take a look at the gardengirltv.com site. She's in the city of Boston. She's got chickens, rabbits, goats, and many raised garden beds.
