This is Xavier with Daddy.

Here's Mommy with jealous dog Manix and baby Xavier.

Then, as if that isn't enough news, we have a new puppy. My son watched him roaming around where he works a few days - did some investigating and found out the owners booted him out because he had mange. My son took the opportunity to nurse him back to health (mange is gone) and we now have a beautiful puppy. The owners said he's a Lab/Boxer mix? Does he look like that to you Matron? I know you know dogs.

He likes to hang out below the garage.

I thought I recognized pitbull, but I guess we'll see. He was in bad shape at first, lost most of his hair on his back and had scabby patches on his upper shoulder area. What I read suggested that it was the neglect that caused it. Not eating properly. Now there's no skin problem and all his hair is back. We have him on vitamins and puppy food. My son was supposed to have reported the previous owner.
I bought one of the dog whisperer books and it's so good.

What sweeties! both of them! You may be right, looks like lab/boxer but I see what you mean about the pitbull features, I was thinking those cheeks look quite strong like a bull terrier. No problem now he has fantastic new caring owners who will socialise and train him. Fantastic!
You have a beautiful grandchild!
Matron: Wow! Thanks for your input. The first chapter we read in this book was about how to Not ruin your puppy. I think we would have! It was more like chapter 5 in the book, but we felt like it was an emergency ;) He still had his puppy breath when we got him so he can't be too old. I'll have to ask my son what the vet said.
me: Thanks! We're just loving him and so thankful to have him. Lol, both babies!
Your little pup looks as if he is having a fun time around your garden. I am so pleased he is free of mange now. Congratulations to your daughter on the birth of her little boy, Xavier is a lovely name. I am sure both baby and dog are being very spoiled. x
Hi Louise, thanks for the comments. I guess they are going to be spoiled. But babies need a little of it ;)
nice puppy, its good for granchildren to have dogs to play with, an essential part of growing up!!
Thanks Claire. I guess it's worked out for the best. Poor guy was booted out of his first home and left to roam the streets. After a couple of weeks here he's made himself at home. We do love him :)
Hope Mum & baby are doing well!
