Another job that I am in the middle of is to jar and label my herbs and spices. I just love them. I am making a resolution to myself to devote more of my time to the things I enjoy. Making herbal teas and seasoning blends is one of my favorites.
I have a few pictures to share, an update of the garden:

This bed is a fast growing bush bean named Masai. In about one month I'll be harvesting loads of slender green beans. I like to freeze these whole. They look so nice on a dinner plate.
This is the bean I usually start in the end of
May and then when they are in full production, harvest them and pull up all the plants to replace them with another crop[of seedlings that has been waiting in the wings. It's the only way I get a good variety of veggies out of this small plot!

Can you believe how full
of peppers this little plant is?!
My husband loves hot peppers
and he's got a couple more
plants just like this one, but not
quite so full of fruit as they are
full of blooms.

This is my basil that I decided to grow in a pot after seeing how beautiful the basil was at the Tomato Pie Cafe.
I'll post more throughout the week, I better get to bed since I've got to get up early.

I have a second crop of bush beans too. My first ones get planted out after frosts in about April or May, but I like to plant more in about July and they will go on through to November.
Why does that little word called work have to always get in the way of us having fun. It looks as if you had a good vacation though. I like beans whole on the plate too and your tub of basil is going to look really good. We love dishes which include chilli, especially prawns or spare ribs in salt 'n chilli, which we get in our local Chinese. x
I never heard of prawns and chili ~ very interesting. My husband will probably want to try that. I love prawns even by themselves.
I hope the basil looks as good as the Cafe's, but the more I think about it ~ I don't think it will last very long in that pot. I have plans to freeze it. I like to chop it up and freeze it with olive oil and minced garlic in icecube trays. Then transfer to ziplock baggies.
Matron: our last frost date is the end of May and I usually plant them during that week.
I also usually plant Romano pole beans but didn't get them in this year. Regrettably.
Our neighbour was married yesterday & two of their guests are staying with us. They brought me 3 little pepper plants - so I hope they turn out half as good as yours in the photo!
Your young basil looks good - hope it will bring back happy memories of lazy vacations days! Enjoy the new term - TopVeg
Hope work is going ok. You sound like you have had a relaxing vacation. I was interested to hear that you like making herbal teas. I would be interested to hear how you do this.
Kind regards

Hi Sara. Work went right back to full speed ahead, but I guess that's the nature of the transportation industry ;) I don't know why I expect it should be different.
The herbal teas will require a post.
